Before reporting a found dog, please do the following:
Check to see if the dog has a tattoo in its right ear If there is no tattoo on the ear flap, check the stomach or inner leg.
1. You might have to shine a light through the ear.
2. Or use a Q-tip with alcohol to raise the tattoo up.
3. Message our admins or email to admins@winnipeglostdogalert.com the tattoo number. We will then try to look up the number to get the owner.
Our hope is that we can avoid several things happening if we do this.
* Avoid the dog going to Animal Services
* Avoid stress on the dog being taken to a vets office
* Avoid the risk of the dog escaping again while being transported
* Get a faster reunite with the owner
